Founded in Southern California in 1936, Bob’s Big Boy is credited with inventing the original double-decker hamburger. The location at 4211 Riverside Drive in Burbank, built in 1949, is the oldest surviving Bob’s Big Boy in the U.S. Its design blends the sleek Streamline Moderne style of the 1940s with the bold, futuristic flair of 1950s coffee shop architecture, a look that was born right here in Southern California.
