|Additional Information:||Original vintage poster: ROMA (Italy); designed by the artist Virgilio Retrosi c. 1930. This antique poster is archival linen backed with minor touch up to the outside boarders. Folded with fold marks restored during linen backing. This imposing poster for Rome brings together a host of the city's most famous monuments: the Altare della Patria, the tower of Santa Maria Maggiore, and the Column of Marcus Aurelius.The are on the left that appears 'yellow' is ghosted crosses floating in the sky along the rainbow of blue tones. The building in the background is the Monument of Victor Emmanuel II, which was started in 1895 and finished in 1911. In addition in this monument is the Altar of the Fatherland, which is where the tomb of an unknown soldier is found. This soldier was killed in the 1st World War and became a symbol for all unknown fallen soldiers of Italy. This is an Original Lithograph Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is professional acid-free conservation mounted, linen backed, and in very good condition.|
