Lovely travel poster created by Swiss Air to advertise the plane route to Japan. A Japanese woman stands in her kimono looking delicate as a flower. The word "Japan" is printed in shimmering gold, as are parts of her elaborate robe. Excellent condition. Archival linen mounted. The exquisite Nihonga painting "Jo no Mai" (Noh Dance Prelude, 1936) by Japanese artist Uemura Shoen appears on this travel poster for Japan Air Lines (the image also appeared on a poster published by the Japan National Tourist Organization). This is an Original Lithograph Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is professional acid-free conservation mounted, linen backed, and in very good condition.
