This antique original travel poster was created for the Messageries Maritimes, which was a French merchant shipping company founded in 1851. The ocean liner depicted here was called “La Marseillaise,” and was one of the largest and most luxurious cruise ships in the company’s history. A. Glenisson designed the poster with the outline of a Greek-like God figure, as the route advertised went along the Mediterranean Sea. This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is conservation mounted, linen backed, and in excellent condition.
