Archival linen backed in very good condition; ready to frame. Year: 1956 Printer: Contogonis - Malicoutis, Athens. The bottom-right corner is missing about a 1/16-inch triangle. Scratch on the top left corner, where it may have been bent over at one time. Minor edge wear on the left side of the paper. Tiny spot repair of where the poster may have been pinned in the right corner. Images are of the exact poster you will receive. Note: that this poster was also issued later in 1958. Original vintage travel poster to Greece featuring Apollo at Olympia. Linen-backed and ready to frame. It is in good condition. The Greek Tourist Agency, during the late 1940’s and early 1950s, created numerous beautiful travel posters for destinations in Greece. The country hoped to enjoy some of the increased tourist traffic resulting from newer airplanes and the improved global economy after the end of World War II. The Apollo of Olympia was part of the group of sculptures found in the west pediment of the Temple of Zeus at Olympia. This is an Original Lithograph Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is conservation mounted, linen-backed, and in good condition. |
