| Additional Information: | Original poster: NORTHWEST ORIENT AIRLINES, TRANS WORLD AIRLINES poster. Description There’s a New Way Around the World / Northwest Orient Airlines – Trans World Airlines. Circa 1958. Excellent condition, linen-backed, ready to frame. "There's a new way Around The World". TWA and Northwest Orient linked routes in 1958, providing global service. The poster depicts the globe and features insets of destinations including New York, Tokyo, Bombay, and Rome, as well as a TWA Lockheed Constellation and a Northwest Orient DC-7. The images feature the global flight paths that were used by this combined airline. One of the airplanes in the image is the Constellation, and the other airplane is presumed to be a DC-6. Both are propeller-driven aircraft. This is the only poster we have had in inventory with two airlines combined in a poster. Note that this is a small format original. Travel with Northwest Orient Airlines / Trans World Airlines to Bombay, Rome, Tokuo or New York on the Constellation aircraft. The center globe shows additiional international travel routes. (On July 15, 1947, Northwest was the first airline to begin direct service between the United States and Japan) This is a must-have for TWA collectors. It is the only 1 we have seen.
