Additional Information: Innsbruck '76 original Olympics posters. Tirol Austria 1976. Winter Games. Original Olympic poster. Linen backed. Artist: Arthur Zeiger. The 1976 Winter Olympics were held in Innsbruck, Austria. The Games took place from February 4 to February 15, 1976. Innsbruck had previously hosted the Winter Olympics in 1964. The 1976 Winter Olympics were notable for several reasons: The Games occurred during a period of Cold War tensions, and both East and West Germany participated as separate entities. This was the last time the two German teams competed independently at the Winter Olympics; they would reunify for the 1992 Summer Olympics and subsequent Winter Games. The Olympic Logo was designed in 1913 by Pierre de Coubertin, founder of the modern Olympic Games. The vie rings symbolize the continents united through sportsmanship and friendly, fair competition. This is an Original Lithograph Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is conservation mounted, linen backed, and in excellent condition.
