The painting for this original poster sold at auction in May 2018 for $372,500. This is the original 1940 poster that was normally displayed at newstands to promote the upcoming or current Saturday Evening Post magazine. Note the size. These posters were often easily destroyed after they were put up, They were produced to be display only until the next Saturday Evening Post issue arrived. Most of them were destroyed by wind or rain. They are printed on very thin paper. (this one is archivally linen backed.) There is a tiny amount of aging on the right border about 1/8” but otherwise this is a very rare mint condition original. This is an Original Lithograph Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is professional acid-free conservation mounted and in very good condition. |
