Additional Information: Alemagna panatone, Italian cake. Original poster. Mounted on acid free archival linen. Artist: Marcello Dudovich. Size: 13.25" x 19". Printed in Milano, Italy. Dove flying above the 'panitone' cakes made in Italy. The Alemagna confectionary company was founded in Melegnano, by Gioacchino Alemagna (1892 - 1974) in 1921. In 1925 he opened a coffee shop and, in 1933, the famous pastry bar in the Piazza del Duomo in Milan. The italian chocolate and biscuit company Alemagna was popular during the post-war era. Their delicious sweets were advertised with this white dove swooping over a brown confectionery dove sprinkled with powdered sugar.
