An original concept painting for the French two-panel poster for King Kong (RKO, 1933). The artwork is watercolor on paper, by Albin (Ph.) de Buncey, is marked in pencil with a numbered grid. The finished poster measured 63 by 94 inches. The artwork is accompanied by two gorilla studies by de Buncey. The first is a pencil on paper sketch signed by the artist at lower right. The second is a pencil and watercolor study, unsigned with a numerical notation in the upper left corner. |
