It's in great shape.. A man in Algerian dress on horseback. Algeria and French West Africa sent 500,000 men to fight for France. The French poster presents a more positive cultural interchange, albeit with a romanticised picture of Algerian society. During the First World War France made much use of colonial troops, unlike other belligerents, who usually enlisted African subjects into labour units, fearing active service would encourage a sense of elevated of status.
