This beautiful lithograph is in excellent condition, and many poster areas have gold foil, as shown in the images. The ship and flags at the top are almost done in the gold foil on this fantastic poster—archival linen-backed and ready to frame. Printer: O. De Rycker and Mendel in Brussels. This poster was realized for the inauguration of the harbor installations of Brussels from September 19 to 28, 1914. Back to the time when it was first constructed, this poster celebrates the anniversary of the inauguration of the port in Brussels. This is the before-lettering version of the poster, the bottom text describing the event having yet to be added. The artist Fernand Toussaint was a prominent painter during the early 20th century. His creations stand out above those of contemporaries of his time. Festivity was canceled because of the beginning of the war. (The German invasion of Belgium in August 1914.) This poster is a rare find, and it appears that only one copy becomes available about every ten years.
