The Prix du Jockey Club is a prestigious horse racing event which is held at the foot of the magnificent Château de Chantilly on the first Sunday in June every year. This Group I race, the highest category of horse race, was created in 1836. The format of the race was inspired by the English Derby, and it was named in homage to the Jockey Club based at Newmarket in England. It was established in 1836, and it was originally restricted to horses born and bred in France. French Derby has become a rendezvous for all the society and one of the best race for three-year-olds thoroughbreds athletes. The Prix du Jockey Club dates right back to the start of French racing history, when it quickly became known as a highly selective race that played an important role in improving the thoroughbred breed. This CHANTILLY Prix du JOCKEY CLUB is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is conservation mounted, linen backed to preserve and protect the poster, and in excellent condition.|
