Mickey Rooney – A Legend Passes

by Pierre Vudrag on Monday, April 7, 2014

Mickey Rooney passed away on Sunday at the age of 93.  Rooney, who spent his entire life working in vaudeville (starting at the age of one), film, television and Broadway, started working in Hollywood in 1926 in the silent film “Not to Be Trusted,” and continuing through the following nine decades of his life, including recently in the films “Night at the Museum” (2006) and “The Muppets” (2011).  It’s reported that he worked on or was working on three yet unfinished films including the next installment of “Night at the Museum” with Ben Stiller.  In the 30’s and 40’s Rooney, signed to MGM, was the No. 1 star at the box office.  Imdb list rooney’s acting appearances at over 330 credits. Working with many Hollywood stars in hundreds of films but is probably best know for his Andy Hardy series and the films he made with Judy Garland.  His life at times was tumultuous but Rooney was said to live his life to the fullest.

Much will be said about Mickey Rooney in the days and years to comes, but for us, a Hollywood legend has been lost, one of the last of his generation.  We will always remember him through his films and the posters that represent his vast body of work.

Mickey Rooney ( September 23, 1920 Brooklyn, New York – April 6, 2014 Los Angeles, California) Rest in peace.
