MILTON H. GREENE

(March 14, 1922 – August 8, 1985)

Famed fashion / celebrity photographer Milton H. Greene was active for over four decades photographing Hollywood icons and the top models from around the world such as Frank Sinatra, Audrey Hepburn (whom he dated for a short period), Grace Kelly, John F. Kennedy, Marlene Dietrich, Sammy Davis, Jr., Gene Kelly, John Wayne, James Stewart, Tony Curtis, Janet Leigh, Paul Newman, Cary Grant, Steve McQueen, Faye Dunaway, Ali MacGraw, Gregory Peck, Yul Brenner, Sophia Loren, Elizabeth Taylor, Judy Garland, Alfred Hitchcock, Romy Schneider, Laurence Olivier, Ava Gardner, Lauren Bacall, Dizzy Gillespie and Norman Mailer as well as many others.  Milton’s work could be seen many national publications including national publications including Life, Look, Harper’s Bazaar, Town & Country, People and Vogue. Milton won many national and international honors, medals and awards for his work including the American Institute of Graphic Arts and the Art Director’s Club of New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Detroit.  And yet with all his success and honors and surrounding himself with such political and Hollywood royalty, in the public eye Milton is probably best known today for his work with Marilyn Monroe.  Milton took some of the most iconic photographs ever taken of Marilyn all culled from a total of 52 photographic sessions.  Known as Marilyn’s photographer, Milton’s photos of Marilyn are highly sought after.
