This striking original poster displays a graceful model wearing a vibrant red sun hat against a light blue background. This is truly a lovely piece! Billy DeVorss (1908 – 1985) was an entirely self-taught illustration artist who first started his commercial career in 1933. He was well known throughout his career for his voluptuous figures and attractive faces of his images. This poster is one of those great pin-up style images created by DeVorss. This original pre WWII pinup from Devorss (Billy de Vorss) showed women for their beauty in this early style. Pinup art was made very popular during World War ii by additional artists such a Vargas and Elvgren. The later had the humor, sex appeal and became famous for the pinup calendars and nose cone art. This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is conservation mounted, linen backed, and in excellent condition. |
