In the center is the world globe with AAF (United States Army Air Forces) Shoulder Sleeve Insignia logo used from 1941- 1947. A lighter blue sky occupies the top and right side of the image. Aircraft appear and fly from behind the world globe and into the forefront of this rare vintage military poster. Also, note that this is not the seal of the United States Air Force. We celebrate the 75th anniversary of the creation of the U.S. Air Force on Sept. 18; the history of U.S. military aviation can be traced back to 1907, when the U.S. Army created the Aeronautical Division, Signal Corps.
