Additional Information: Original National Defense, Citizens’ Military Training Camps vintage poster. The Army of the United States, Regular Army, Organized Reserves, National Guard. Linen backed original vintage poster created in the early 1930’s. Lithograph in A- condition, bright and vibrant. These training camps were held at various locations in the summer across the United States. Every summer from 1921 to 1940 about 30,000 young men from across the country volunteered for a U. S. Army program known as Citizen’s Military training Camps. (CMTC). At their peak, these sessions were about a month long at around 50 Army camps across the US. From 1921 to 1940 nearly 400,000 participated in these training exercises. Even Ronald Regan signed up for the cavalry training at Fort Des Moines, Iowa.
