Depicted in this poster a collage type illustration of a Mayan pyramid, a Spanish colonial church, a beach resort, village houses etc. The central image of this poster is the big bust is of the Deity Kukulkan, depicted as a plumed or feathered serpent. The depiction of the feathered serpent deity is present in other cultures of Mesoamerica. Kukulkan is closely related to the god Q'uq'umatz of the L'iche' Maya and Quetzalcoatl of the Aztecs. Little is known of the mythology of this pre-Columbian deity. Note that this is a rare original poster by the artist Howard Koslow. It is archival linen backed in very fine condition. Ready to frame.
