|Additional Information:||Original first printing (dated 1952) antique French poster with English text: "FRANCE PROVENCE". French national Railroads. Professional acid-free archival linen backed, very fine condition, ready to frame. The gallery watermark does not appear on the artwork. Artist: Tal. The French language version of the poster only reads "Provence" along the bottom. Another variation has the wording "Frankrike". This English language version of this poster is much more desirable and rare! The poster was created by the French Government for SNCF also known as the French National Railroads. The image in this fabulous poster features a table setting with grapes, flowers, oil and vinegar viewing out over the countryside. A mild take off of what Picasso may have envisioned for this poster design. Provence is a geographical region and historical province of southeastern France, which extends from the left bank of the lower Rhône River to the west to the Italian border to the east, and is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea to the south. This is the rare first printing done in 1952 with the English text versus the later 1959 printing. #france?? #super_france|
