In the early 1950s Fernand Mourlot began to work collaboratively with modern French masters in Paris to design and produce original color lithographic posters to promote their exhibitions primarily at Galerie Maeght in Paris. This poster a strong sense of texture, particularly in the black and white speckled border. Miró uses horizontally layered composition and places an individual image within each layer. Miró's trademark stars and whimsical figures are featured in this original lithograph. One of Miro's first original posters for the exhibition of his recent works at Maeght in 1953. It's Miro's sixth exhibition poster, designed by himself and printed in a minimal edition by Mourlot in Paris. (Note: smaller format prints are separated pages from a book about Mourlot's posters and are photomechanical reproductions from the original poster). This MIRO Galerie Maeght is an Original Lithograph Vintage Poster, not a reproduction. This poster is conservation-mounted, linen-backed, and in excellent condition.
