|Additional Information:||Original small format Italian poster: TACCHI PIRELLI. Artist: S. Bagni. Size: 13 3/4" x 9 7/8 or 35cm x 25cm poster on 'cartone' (light cardboard backing). This is consider a window or instore, indoor poster. The light card board backing keeps the paper stiff when hanging from the small hole at the top, usually attached by a short string. This original poster displayed is a very rare Pirelli tire poster (and may currently be the only available copy on the world market.) Printer: Arti Grafiche Bartarelli, Milano (Italy). This image of a vagabond with worn out shoes has replaced the heal with a Pirelli Tacchi, marca * stella. With the KM:10.000 road marker it shows that he has walked that far; or still have another 10.000 km to go to his destination. The original cartone does light foxing on the white edges and there is a part of the upper left corner missing (about 1/8" x 1/8") less wide that the small outside boarder. Pirelli founded in Milan in 1872 by Giovanni Battista Pirelli, the company initially specialized in rubber and derivative processes and also made scuba diving rebreathers. This is a rare original Italian Pirelli poster. It is not a reproduction. From all records, it appears that this image was only printed in this smaller format size. Very little information is available about this artist. @thevintageposter|
