The Inaugural California 500, this vibrant poster shows off racing's thrilling action with a dynamic '70's style. Ontario Motor Speedway was a motorsport venue located in Ontario, California. It was the first and only automobile racing facility built to accommodate major races sanctioned by all of the four dominant racing sanctioning bodies: USAC (and now Indy Car Series) for open-wheel oval car races; NASCAR for a 500-mile (800 km) oval stock car races; NHRA for drag races; and FIA for Formula One road course races. The California 500 was an Indy-style open wheel car race which began in 1970 at the Ontario Motor Speedway in Ontario, California. The last California 500 was held in 1980. After that, due to financial problems by the race operators, the speedway was purchased for real estate development by Chevron Land Company and they demolished the venue in 1981.
