<\/a>I had the opportunity to catch the new Guillermo del Toro: At Home with Monsters<\/em> exhibit at the\u00a0Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA)\u00a0the filmmaker\u2019s first museum retrospective. \u00a0The exhibit includes\u00a0Guillermo\u00a0del Toro<\/strong><\/a>‘s personal\u00a0collection of paintings, drawings, maquettes, artifacts, and concept film art as well as\u00a0<\/span>extensive elements from the\u00a0filmmakers career\u00a0beginning with Cronos (1993) and continuing through The Devil\u2019s Backbone<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>(2001), Hellboy<\/strong> <\/a>(2004), Pan\u2019s Labyrinth<\/strong><\/a> (2006), Pacific Rim (2013), and Crimson Peak (2015), among many other film, television, and book projects. \u00a0The exhibit is a f<\/span>ascinating insight into\u00a0<\/span>del\u00a0<\/span>Toro\u2019s creative process by bringing together elements from his films, objects from his vast\u00a0<\/span>personal collections, drawings from his notebooks, and a\u00a0<\/span>diverse range of media\u2014including sculpture,\u00a0<\/span>paintings, prints, photography, costumes, ancient artifacts, books, maquettes, and film\u2014<\/span>totals approximately 500 objects and reflects the broad scope of del Toro\u2019s inspirations.<\/span><\/p>\n![\"\"](\"http:\/\/www.limitedruns.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/Pale-Man-300x170.jpg\" "\\"Pale")
