Today we take for granted how easily television and the internet can get news and information out to you in a matter of minutes, but this was not the case 95 years ago when radio was in its infancy and the news was promulgated by newspapers, and depending on depending on where people lived, many were not distributed daily.<\/p>\n

During World War One the U.S. government needed a vehicle with which it could reach the citizenry and impart many important messages quickly, effectively and in a meaningful way.\u00a0 As a way to get their messages out, President Woodrow Wilson\u2019s Committee on Public Information utilized posters as a means to disseminate information about the war and various causes including selling Liberty bonds.\u00a0 In fact, over the span of two years, Liberty bonds generated 24 million dollars, more than two thirds of the total cost of the war.<\/p>\n
