These uncovered images are offered for the first time as fine art prints.<\/p>\n<p>The photographers featured:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.limitedruns.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Whitey-Marilyn2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-1979\" title=\"Whitey &amp; Marilyn\" src=\"http:\/\/www.limitedruns.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Whitey-Marilyn2-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.limitedruns.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Whitey-Marilyn2-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.limitedruns.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Whitey-Marilyn2-50x50.jpg 50w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a><a title=\"ALLAN \u201cWHITEY\u201d SNYDER\" href=\"https:\/\/www.limitedruns.com\/blog\/photographer-allan-whitey-snyder\/\" target=\"_blank\">Allan &#8220;Whitey&#8221; Snyder<\/a><\/strong>, born in California, started his career as an assistant make-up artist on the 1948 film, <em>The Walls of Jericho<\/em>. Later, he worked as head make-up artist on <em>Rosemary&#8217;s Baby<\/em> (1968), <em>Little House on the Prairie<\/em> (1981) and <em>Highway to Heaven<\/em> (1984). He was nominated twice for Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Make-Up, including one for <em>Marilyn: The Untold Story<\/em>. Assigned to do Miss Monroe&#8217;s make-up for her first Twentieth Century Fox screen test in 1946, Snyder went on to develop a close working relationship with Monroe, and became best known as her personal make-up artist. Towards the end of Monroe&#8217;s life, she asked Snyder to prepare her face if she were to die before him. He fulfilled that promise in 1962, and was a pallbearer at her funeral.<a title=\"Marilyn Monroe: Mountain Range\" href=\"http:\/\/www.limitedruns.com\/original\/photography\/celebrity\/marilyn-monroe-mountain-range\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1982\" title=\"Marilyn Monroe: Mountain Range\" src=\"http:\/\/www.limitedruns.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/AWS-009.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"576\" height=\"417\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.limitedruns.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/AWS-009.jpg 576w, https:\/\/www.limitedruns.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/AWS-009-300x217.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 576px) 100vw, 576px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>Taken by Snyder in August 1953 while on location filming River of No Return with Robert Mitchum. Look Magazine sent a photographer to this photo shoot. Milton H. Greene was assigned to shoot the cover image when he met Marilyn for the first time. Milton sent Marilyn proofs from this first sitting and Marilyn responded by sending him two dozen roses and called to say \u201cthey were the most beautiful pictures she had ever seen\u201d and asked Milton to be her official photographer.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.limitedruns.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Milton-Greene.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-1994\" title=\"Milton Greene\" src=\"http:\/\/www.limitedruns.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Milton-Greene-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.limitedruns.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Milton-Greene-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.limitedruns.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Milton-Greene-50x50.jpg 50w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>Milton H. Greene<\/strong> was awarded a scholarship to Pratt Institute, but decided to pursue a photography career instead. In his early twenties, he became known as the &#8220;Color Photographer&#8217;s Wonder Boy.&#8221; His fashion shots appeared in <em>Harper&#8217;s Bazaar<\/em> and <em>Vogue<\/em>. He also photographed many high profile personalities in the &#8217;50s and &#8217;60s, including Frank Sinatra, Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Elizabeth Taylor, Judy Garland and numerous others. But it was Greene&#8217;s iconic images of Marilyn Monroe, as her official photographer, that changed the course of his career.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Marilyn Monroe: Grey Fur Sesion\" href=\"http:\/\/www.limitedruns.com\/original\/photography\/celebrity\/marilyn-monroe-grey-fur-session-1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2004\" title=\"MARILYN: The Lost Photographs of a Hollywood Star\" src=\"http:\/\/www.limitedruns.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Greene-0001.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"576\" height=\"572\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.limitedruns.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Greene-0001.jpg 576w, https:\/\/www.limitedruns.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Greene-0001-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.limitedruns.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Greene-0001-300x297.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.limitedruns.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Greene-0001-50x50.jpg 50w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 576px) 100vw, 576px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>On Sunday, April 15, 1956, with a day off during filming of Bus Stop, Marilyn and Milton held a photo shoot on the 20th Century-Fox backlot, officially known as the \u201cGrey Fur\u201d and \u201cGypsy\u201d sittings.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Marilyn Monroe: Party\" href=\"http:\/\/www.limitedruns.com\/original\/photography\/celebrity\/marilyn-monroe-party-1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-2019\" title=\"LCA-MMO-01\" src=\"http:\/\/www.limitedruns.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/LCA-MMO-01-248x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"248\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.limitedruns.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/LCA-MMO-01-248x300.jpg 248w, https:\/\/www.limitedruns.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/LCA-MMO-01.jpg 478w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 248px) 100vw, 248px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nEmployed as a sound engineer for ABC television, Caesars Casino in Las Vegas, and Capitol Records,<a title=\"LANI CARLSON\" href=\"https:\/\/www.limitedruns.com\/blog\/photographers-lani-carlson\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong> Lani Carlson<\/strong><\/a> worked with Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Ann Margaret, and The Beatles. Posing as a photographer for the <em>Chicago Tribune<\/em>, Lani talked his way into press parties and Academy Award celebrations where he photographed celebrities like Cary Grant, Elizabeth Taylor, Clark Cable, Fred Astaire, and Marilyn Monroe.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In 1960, United Artists hired the Reno, Nevada-based cinematographer, <strong>Thomas &#8220;Doc&#8221; Kaminski<\/strong>, to document the filming of <em>The Misfits<\/em>, starring Clark Gable, Montgomery Clift and Marilyn Monroe. While Kaminski filmed the making of the movie, he also shot stills of the actors on set, which he mailed to his family.
