James Bond: The Return Of Spectre
and Classic Bond Film Art

by Pierre Vudrag on Saturday, November 7, 2015

With the release of the new Bond film we’re reminded as vintage poster collectors that sometimes the old seems new again. SPECTRE (Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion) was first introduced in the first Bond film Dr. No and the making this the first encounter with the global criminal organisation since 1971’s Diamonds Are Forever.

The James Bond series of films are the longest continually running and the 2nd-highest grossing film franchise to date. The first film in the series began in 1962 with Dr. No, starring Sean Connery as Bond. To date there have been 24 official films in the series and 2 independent productions of Bond films: Casino Royale (a spoof 1967) and Never Say Never Again (a 1983 remake of an earlier Bond film, Thunderball) making a total of 26 Bond films in all.  The Bond film posters make great collectibles and look fantastic when framed right and hung on your wall.  Here are some more great Bond film posters from around the world.
